We took off on a day trip with one of the few missionary couples left in Germany, Scott and Geri Conlin. They took us to several little towns along the Mosel River. Vineyards abound along this river and the Rhine River.

It seems that a lot of these towns track the high water marks of floods over the years in one way or another. This town did it with this post.
Loosely translated: Flood levels ....
Everyone is wearing masks these days, even the statues. The statues represent the economy of this area which was working metal and fishing.
Vineyards cover the hillsides.
Castles abound in Germany and the Mosel River valley didn't disappoint us.
We stopped in this little village for lunch and the stunning scenery.
This was one of our first outings and we were surprised at the crowds. It was a bit uncomfortable.
Witches brooms had seats and a bell for when in traffic I guess.
No day trip with our friends is complete without stopping at an EisCafe for ice cream.
The Mosel and Rhine Rivers have had lots of commerce for centuries.
Beautiful pictures of wildflowers taken by Joanne.
