Lauterbrunnen Day 3

Karen and Ward arrived back in Frankfurt the end of July after four months in the states. They were looking forward to traveling again so they joined us in Lauterbrunnen and we altered our original plans. Our breakfast at the Staubbach Hotel was perfect. What could be better than a hard boiled egg with a Swiss flag?

We headed out to Trümmelbach Falls. It was a beautiful day to explore the 10 glacier-fed waterfalls inside the mountain. They are accessible only by funicular (a type of cable car) and stairs.
It drains the glaciers of Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau.

In the afternoon, we rented E-bikes and took a ride down the valley trail. We shared the time with Andersons, so we didn't have as much time to explore as we would have liked. But we enjoyed the scenery a few days earlier when we walked the trail with Will and Val and the boys.

The color of this glacier-fed stream is hard to describe; turquois-gray maybe?

What a fun surprise to find a vending machine with fresh milk and cheese
supplied by the local farmers. Can't get much fresher than that!
