While we entertained Z and Sebs, Will and Val set out on an adventure of a lifetime. We borrowed a couple of pictures from their blog to share a little of what they experienced.
Will is walking along the rock face on the left-hand side in the picture above. Notice the rebar supports that he is stepping on ... nothing else. Yikes!!
The Via Ferrata starts high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the lovely village of Mürren (1,800m) and from there it leads steeply downwards. As a rule, via ferratas lead upwards but in contrast, the route leads from Mürren almost directly down in the direction of Gimmelwald.
Will put together a 3.22 minute video of all the footage they took with their Go-Pro camera. It took about two hours to complete the arduous task of the Via Ferrata's steep narrow trails, suspension bridges, crossing waterfalls and so much more.
He put it to the song "Whatever it Takes" by Imagine Dragons.

Will and Val were full of excitement as they gave us a rundown of their adventure.
We had a quick lunch at the Hotel Staubbach (where we would stay for a couple more days)
and then headed out for more fun.
The views going up the mountain on the steep train ride were beautiful
We took a train to Wengen and then a tram to Mannlichen where we started our 1.5 hour walk to Klein Scheidegg. It was a glorious day to be walking in the Alps.
This is the view looking down to Wengen and then the Lauterbrunnen valley below.
The melody of the cowbells in the distance was enchanting.
Three generations of Perrys in this photo. Wow!
Our time in Europe has given us our fill of castles and cathedrals. However, I can never get enough of the majesty of God's creations. Absolutely stunning.
A panoramic view - breathtakingly beautiful.
Dave was blocking the mountain, so we had to do a retake. And Sebs was happier, too.
This part of Switzerland is officially, Dave's Happy Place.
There was another playground for the kids ... young and old.
We discovered Lauterbrunnen due to a postcard sent from our mission friends, Elder and Sister Moench who has visited here years ago and sent us this postcard. We are so happy we found it.
When we got back to the hotel, it was time for showers and a story before we parted ways.
It was a fabulous few days together. We will miss them so much.
Their car was parked right outside the hotel when the entertainment began so we were happy to wait. These yodelers usually do a summer concert, but because of the COVID restrictions, they performed at the different hotels and restaurants along the streets of Lauterbrunnen.
